Gaynor Hutton – the story so far

Gaynor Hutton - Polo Manager

Gaynor Hutton, Glasgow Polo Club’s Polo Manager has had a long and successful equestrian career. Beginning in show jumping she’s had many successes including:

  • Former International Show Jumper, representing Great Britain to European Championship level
  • Former Scottish & British National Show Jumping Champion
  • Competed all over Europe, including well known locations such as Wembley, Olympia, etc.
  • Youngest ever appointed chef d’equipe for Scottish International Pony Teams, resulting in Gold Medals

At the same time Gaynor has had a successful business career – building company from small family run industrial cleaning firm to become the leading provider in the UK for treatment and recycling of hazardous wastes. The company pioneered technologies that allowed waste to be recycled rather than sent to landfill for disposal. And it won many accolades and awards including 2007 National Recycling Award and a special presentation for “Outstanding Contribution to the Waste Recycling Industry”

Gaynor turned to polo in 2006. Largely self taught so far, she’s achieved remarkable success including:

  • 2010 – Trained with Team GB Polo Manager, further training planned
  • 2009 – Most Valuable Player, Don Manuel Ladies Tournament, Argentina
  • 2010 – Most Valuable Player, Ladies National Arena Championships, Ascot
  • 2010 – Member of winning teams both in Scotland and England at various levels from zero to six goal tournaments

With this background Gaynor is determined to develop the sport of polo in Scotland. With her track record so far – there’s definitely exciting times ahead!
